Hope for Coffee Names Devis Burnam as Executive Director

Hope for Coffee is honored to share an exciting leadership update: Devis Burnam has been named Executive Director of Hope for Coffee.

As Coffee County continues the long road of recovery after Hurricane Helene, Hope for Coffee remains committed to bringing hope, renewal, and restoration through faith-led service, strong partnerships, and practical support for families in need. Naming an Executive Director is a key step in strengthening our structure and expanding our capacity to serve with excellence and consistency.

A Leader Rooted in Faith, Service, and Community

Devis Burnam is a mission-driven leader with a deep passion for community, collaboration, and long-term impact. She brings years of leadership experience, a heart for people, and a steady commitment to seeing Coffee County restored—not just structurally, but holistically.

Born and raised in Douglas, Georgia, her connection to this community isn’t just professional. It’s personal. She has watched Coffee County grow, weather hardships, and rally together in moments when neighbors truly become family. That lifelong perspective brings a grounded leadership style shaped by a simple truth: recovery isn’t a project—it’s people.

In her role as Executive Director, Devis will guide both the operational and spiritual direction of Hope for Coffee, ensuring the organization remains grounded in its values while continuing to grow with integrity and transparency.

A Small Business Owner Who Understands the Weight of the Storm

In addition to her community leadership, Devis is also a local small business owner—which gives her a unique lens on what Hurricane Helene impacted beyond homes.

That small business experience adds both compassion and practical wisdom to the work Hope for Coffee is doing—because she’s lived the reality that many local families and business owners are still facing.

What This Role Means for Hope for Coffee

The Executive Director role exists to ensure Hope for Coffee can lead recovery efforts with clarity, accountability, and long-range planning. Devis will oversee key areas including:

  • Organization-wide leadership and vision

  • Board communication and reporting

  • Partnership development with churches, nonprofits, businesses, and agencies

  • Fundraising strategy and resource development

  • Program oversight and project coordination

  • Operational systems that support sustainable long-term recovery

This leadership step strengthens our ability to respond to real needs in real time—while building an organization equipped for the work ahead.

A Commitment to Long-Term Recovery

Hope for Coffee was created because recovery doesn’t end when debris is cleared. Families continue to face delayed repairs, housing challenges, financial strain, and emotional exhaustion long after the storm. Hope for Coffee exists to walk with families through that process and help bring steady, coordinated support across Coffee County.

Devis’s leadership reflects that same commitment: to do the work well, to serve with dignity, and to keep moving forward even when the process is slow.

Moving Forward Together

We’re grateful for every volunteer, donor, partner, and prayer that has helped build Hope for Coffee into what it is today. As we step into this next season of leadership, our mission remains the same:

To bring hope, renewal, and restoration to Coffee County by empowering local churches, uniting the community, and meeting real needs through service, outreach, and strategic partnerships.

Please join us in celebrating this step forward and welcoming Devis Burnam as Executive Director.
